Update after seeing surgeon

Saw the surgeon today.  He is one of those people that just exudes calmness; which is a very good thing.  We got a lot of information from him.

They are running another test, results will come in 10 to 14 days.  This will let us know if I have the gene that makes me susceptible to cancer.  These results will determine the severity of the surgery which is tentatively scheduled for Sept 28 but there will be 2 surgeons present so will be changed if the second surgeon isn't free.  I will find out the date for sure next Wednesday.

There are now 2 definite things that will be happening.

1.  I will be having surgery

2.  I will have to have chemotherapy.

Still to be determined.

1.  Severity of surgery

2.  Radiation therapy.  This they will not be known until after surgery.

So now we sit and wait again.

Update

Got a phone call from the radiologist today.  The results were back from the biopsies.  The 2 masses are both malignant.  He didn't say if the biopsy of the lymph node was cancerous or not but he did say that they need to be removed.  I see the surgeon at noon on Monday so will find out the course of treatment that is best for my situation.

Health update

Looks like another surgery for me again this year.  Will find out for sure on Monday but 2 radiologists have recommended surgery.

Went in for a double biopsy today both on the right side.  Chances of it not being cancer are so slim with my family history.  My mother and 2 of 3 of her sisters have all had it.  At least now the survival rate is 99%.

Taking a break

I have been dealing with several issues lately that have had me stressed.  I had open heart surgery just over a year ago and this stress is not good for me.  So.... I have shut down my Etsy Store due to the stress of dealing with some people.  Now I am taking it one step further and will only be posting on this blog sporadically at best.  For those looking for the monthly freebies I don't know if/when I will continue them.

W.I.P. - August 22 2012

Well... I haven't posted anything for a few weeks.  I am okay just had some stuff to deal with. 

I have fallen behind in a few BoM's but I will eventually get caught back up. 

Projects currently on the go.

1.  Atlantis quilt is partially quilted (haven't touched it in 2 weeks because of health issues).

2.  Local quilt shop BoM July and August blocks are done.  July has been done for over a month but noticed I never posted a picture.

3.  Forget Me Not BoM July block has been done for awhile.  August block fused down but not sewn.

4.  Carol Doak Mystery BoM is a few months behind.

5.  Mimi's Bloomers is July block is done.  Below is a picture of all the blocks to date laid out.

 Within the next month I hope to have some of the Local Quilt Shop BoM Sewn together to people can see what it will look like.

August Freebie has arrived.

WiP - 7-18

Let's see.

1.  Atlantis quilt is being quilted.  Started that this morning.  Somewhere under that big quilt is a sewing machine.

2.  Forget Me Not Bom by Esther Aliu.  This is my Sweet Pea block.  Still needs to be stitched down.

3.  This is also one of Esther Aliu's designs which is going to be my center medallion for the local Quilt Shop BoM

4.  Mimi's Bloomers July Block is at least started.

6.  Stack n Whack quilt top is pieced together and packed away until I get a few of these things done.

Wonder why I feel buried at times.
