W.I.P. 2-20-2013

Only 2 small finishes this week.

1.  Got block 7 done of the "Witches in Stitches Boo-tique" stitched out.

2.  Carol Doak's paper piecing BoM block for March is done.  She released it early.  Now to just wait for the instructions of how she wants it put together.  I will end up playing with it like a puzzle when I get a chance.  The blue around the block is my ironing board.

Still in progress.

1.  Esther Aliu's BoM "Forget Me Not"  February block is waiting to be stitched down.

2.  Am quilting Mimi's Bloomers.

Will be linking to Esther Aliu and http://www.freshlypieced.com/.  Go check out some of the other eye candy.

WIP- 2-13-2013 and a Finish

First a finish.  The pieced block are from a local quilt shop BoM.  The center block is from Esther Aliu's BoM "Forget Me Not".  The borders are from a design I found in EQ7 and are paper pieced.  So this quilt has a bit of everything.  I did the quilting.  Some stitch in the ditch and some fmq.

Now for the WiP's

First up is my Mimi's Bloomers designed by Erin Russek.  The quilt is sandwiched and I have started quilting.

Still working on block 7 of Witches in Stitches Boo-tique by Oh My Bloomin Threads.  Have block 8 then the center to stitch still.

Mystery Quilt from Esther Aliu.   1 block still to be released.  This is this month's block finished.

Mystery Quilt from Carol Doak.  1 block still to be released.  This month's block which we were not to join.

So as usual been very busy.  Am just lucky that the chemo only drags me down for a week to week and half, which give me a week to week and half to do things.  Just 1 more treatment then 3 weeks off then I start 5 weeks of radiation.

Will be linking up to Esther Aliu as well as http://www.freshlypieced.com/2013/02/wip-wednesday-new-and-improved.html and Richard & Tanya's Link a Finish Friday

Just need to do a little more quilting and the binding on the Local Quilt Shop BoM.  The center block is from Ester Aliu's Forget Me Not BoM.  The blue up at the top is the comforter that is on the bed.  The quilt border is just above the sawtooth.

Finally a finish (sort of)

After a very long year I have finally gotten all of my "Mimi's Bloomers designed by Erin Russek of One Piece at a Time" blocks appliqued.  Am acually quite shocked that I managed to stay somewhat caught up.  Finished 3 blocks in the last month.  Here are the pictures of the blocks.  Some you have seen before and some you haven't.

You can still get the pattern for all but the center block for free on her website.  Not sure how much longer she will have them as she is starting a new BoM this month.

All of the applique was hand stitched

Health Update

Well I am finally half way through my chemo treatments.  I have 3 treatments left to go.  Then a short break then 5 weeks of radiation therapy.  It has been and will be a rough road, but there seems to be some light at the end of the tunnel.

Health Update

Get to heal up for the rest of the month.  Get strength back and hopefully most of the motion back in my arm.  Nov 9 is my chemo start date.  6 sessions 3 weeks apart.  Then will have a couple of weeks off then start radiation daily (mon to fri) for 5 weeks.  The next 6 months are going to be real rough.
